about
Writing in multiple styles and contexts in order to progress along a broader critical trajectory.
That trajectory is defined by research projects investigating the influence of information science and technical literacy on narrative communication. It’s also defined by an ongoing project (currently know as Pathogen) that uses a mix of fiction and reality to question expertise in multiple domains.
Other ongoing and instructive topics of inquiry include natural language processing and ontological engineering.
In past roles, I’ve been a proponent of transparency and open source solutions in government and academia, and I recently contributed a significant amount of documentation for the open source project Drizzle. I currently live in New York, where I’m writing for IEEE Spectrum on communication technology.
Right now I’m also creating a media project that captures an attempt to teach myself to dance — it’s made up of regular video documentation and fractional narratives.
